Slow Down Saturday

Have you ever had a time when you needed to slow the hell down, and your body is just like go go go? That is me right now, I have been on a perpetual hamster wheel pretty much since January. I have traveled a ton of miles, I’ve worked a ton of hours both at my full time job and at my hospital ( most weeks I’ve worked 6 days a week). Thats just work life, not home life, mom life, and trying to run a business. My kiddo is extremely involved in extra curricular activities and she has practices several nights a week, practices that are oh 45 min away from home one way. Such is the life of a cheer mom with a child at a D1 gym. Needless to say with all of that going on, my original plan was to take the day off to try and recover from my extremely busy life, until I got asked to work today. Me not being able to say no to extra money and spending time with my work besties.

Well life has a funny way of working itself out, I got put on call today! I am so stoked because I got to actually sleep in to 730 which is late for the girl who gets up at 5 am every morning. When I finally got up and moving I realized oh shit, I have so much to do. Then I realized that my ear is still infected from the sinus infection that I had before, and I am pretty sure my sinuses are still messed up from being sick too. I could have worked today and pushed through, but I would have been going on like no rest with one day off before I have to jump in to the busiest week of my life. Next week is NCA week at the cheer gym, which means every day we have cheer practice, and before cheer practice we have track practice, we also have a track event on Thursday, and then a major cheer competition this weekend.

I am so thankful for this time to slow down, for this time to sit back watch some netflix, reflect and relax. I am so blessed to have the life that I have, and I am so blessed to have the energy to keep up with the pace of my busy life. I am so very blessed that I have an amazing support system; my family, my boyfriend and my friends. On top of that I have probably the best 13 year old daughter that anyone could ever ask for, she is a straight A student in all advanced classes, a competitive cheerleader, and she is on the track team. One of my best friends complimented on just how good she is and it really hit me that my daughter really is so good, she rarely ever gives any attitude other than normal teenage attitude, she does most things that are asked of her and she really enjoys non-typical teenage music.

What are you thankful on this Saturday? What do you like to reflect on? What do you do to relax when life is super busy? I would love to hear what you do, and what you are thankful for. Let me know in the comments!
